Bob Van Camp ~ Administrator 1983 - 1990 Bob was indeed a radio and musical institution in Atlanta. He served as chief announcer, music director and host of the "Morning Merry-Go-Round" show on WSB radio for 25 years until his retirement in 1974. He was the staff organist for the Atlanta Fox Theatre playing the famed 'Mighty Möller" organ for 40 years. Bob played several times a day for movies on the weekends, sing-along's, concerts, was the MC for the Atlanta Pops, and narrator for the Rich's Christmas Tree Lighting. He graduated Duke University and served as an officer in WWII. After retirement, Bob became the office manager and salesman for Allen Organ Studios of Atlanta. His Monday's were always consumed by planning the Monday night Fox program he was to play. Interestingly, he never used music and had well over 1000 pieces committed to memory. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Atlanta Landmarks. Inc., the American Theatre Organ Society and the American Guild of Organists. After his death in 1990, his cremation remains were distributed atop the Fox Theatre over the organ chambers - a fitting tribute and memorial! |

Working at Allen Organ continued that love of music. She especially appreciated the friends she has there and treasurer her relationship with them. |
